Building your Nest

      On my way to work this morning, my eyes caught a glimpse of a bird with a tiny straw of grass it in its beak. Looking a few metres towards the bird's direction was a tree with so many nests hanging on several branches. Meaning the bird was busy building nests.

       If you've ever watched a bird build a nest, you must accept with me that it is fascinating. Since its the first time that such a scene spoke to me, I did a quick search on Google to know how long it takes a bird to build a nest. The 2 to 3 articles I saw said it takes 2 days to 2 weeks to build a full nest.

        However, What baffles me is not only the time it takes, but the devotion, commitment and intentionality of the bird. This thought me some quick lessons about life, my career and business. Now, look at this, to build a nest, the bird does the following 👇👇

1. The bird has a strong reason for building a nest ; to raise its younger ones in a comfortable environment and to shield them from harsh conditions.
Lesson : Do you have a higher purpose?  Do you have a strong sense of your WHY? How intentional are you about building your life, a sustainable business or career that will be conducive for you, your family and the world?

2. Finds the perfect place ( tree or other places) to build on.
Lesson : Have you found your strengths and weaknesses? Make a conscious effort to find your talents and work on them. Find your special spot and build your life, career or business around it.

3. Finds the perfect materials ( grass, leaves, other vegetation) to build with. Travels unimaginable distances to find the right material.
Lesson: In other to build and live a fulfilled life, you need the right material ( right mindset, right set of people, career, business, discipline and above all God.)

4. Takes one straw at a time from start to finish no matter how long it will take, no matter the distance from the material location to the construction site😄😄 oh yea!!! construction site. You think it's easy to construct a nest?
Lesson: Are you doing the right thing with the right resources or you're busy looking for short cuts to make it in your career, business or education? How patient are you when it comes to preparing and working for your best life?

Whatever your answers are, know that life, the Universe and everything in it was created for a purpose and with intentions.  You can't live without a purpose and live right.  You must be deliberate with your actions in other to get certain results.
