Having a thick skin

  What you need is a thick skin" It has been 6 months since I officially got into the speaking or media world and I have realised that one of the biggest shields that is needed to grow and excell in the field is a thick skin.        Barely two weeks when i first came, i was dead shocked with the way work went for me, i even fell sick and I was just waiting for the first month of probation to end so i could quit and say "I tried for one month"😂😂. I spoke with a senior colleague and she said something that has accompanied me till date and will accompany me till I get to the Zenith of my career.   She said " all you need to develop and grow is a thick skin, put your mind and heart on your target and you'll get there." Building your Nest

      On my way to work this morning, my eyes caught a glimpse of a bird with a tiny straw of grass it in its beak. Looking a few metres towards the bird's direction was a tree with so many nests hanging on several branches. Meaning the bird was busy building nests.        If you've ever watched a bird build a nest, you must accept with me that it is fascinating. Since its the first time that such a scene spoke to me, I did a quick search on Google to know how long it takes a bird to build a nest. The 2 to 3 articles I saw said it takes 2 days to 2 weeks to build a full nest.         However, What baffles me is not only the time it takes, but the devotion, commitment and intentionality of the bird.
