My Brother Hurts My Indian Friend

My thought today: My Brother hurts my Indian friend.

While in a conversation with my brother yesterday, i told him that my Indian friend gave me a gift(incense sticks), my brother said "Glory be careful not to start worshipping those their funny Indian gods".

Fortunately or unfortunately for us, my Indian friend who is also our neighbour over heard the conversation and was terribly hurt.  He then asked me 3 questions that break my heart. He asked

1. "In your religion, do you believe in Jesus?" i said "yes, we do". "We believe in Jesus too", he confirmed. He then asked

2. "Do you know the greatest commandment that Jesus gave man"? I said "yes, it is that of LOVE, love of God and Love of man." Then i couldn't answer his final question, he asked

3. "We believe in that commandment too, Why then does your brother think we worship funny gods? Why does he reduce God to your religion?

Like i said earlier,  i couldn't answer my Indian friend's  final question . You might want to ponder on his question and a few more questions that this conversation arose in my mind.

1. Do you believe in God or in your religion?

2. Do you respect other people's religious opinion? Or are you full of bias?

3. Do you believe that the  Love of God and Love of Man is the greatest commandment that should be?

4. Do you take responsibility for the things you say and for what the people around you understand or you are only responsible for what you say?

Whatever your answers are, i believe that Love is all we need to make our homes, families, countries and the world a better place.

Have a blessed day beautiful people.

I am Fur Glory and i love and believe in you.

  1. Very beautiful write.
Many people asked me lately why I don’t go to church any more, some blundly call me a pegan, atheist, etc just because I stopped going to church. This kind of attitude has radicalized me and made me understand we(Christian’s especially) don’t know who the true God is and what prayer is all about. Every Religion is a cultural understanding of who God is. Unfortunately for us Africans, Christianity is an imported religion I.e. isn’t our culture and thus, we’ll never understand who God is through it. Let’s be authentic (Africanised) and see God in one another not above one another .

  2. I just guess we either learn from our mistakes or persist in our stubborn ways, the society we've grown in has molded us with much we don't understand, and what we don't understand most at times we turn to assume. But the story inspired me enough.

  3. Thanks to make as forum on our conversation. I just complete with "Humanity is God, we called in different names" this is what I experienced.
